Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th in 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Her debut EP Pho, released on October 21 2016, was released on Dreamville Records. She began to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet back in 2012 after she dropped her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued posting her music online as well as her own single Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her send her songs to the Dreamville Team in the following year because he was hoping for Rihanna to collaborate alongside her on some of the songs. In December 2008, it was announced that Rihanna had contracted by Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that she recorded together with Cozz for the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The 21st of October, 2016, the artist released her debut album called Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks with EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas, on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video then released in September. On the 9th November, she released another two singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Then, in November 2013, she released No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track that she recorded alongside Cole on Creed II's soundtrack on November 16th. It then came out as a single on its own in February 2019, to coincide with her debut album. The 20th of February, 2019 a music video was made available for the track. It has already received more than 3 millions views on YouTube in its debut week. In December 2018, she was part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
